19 Feb 2008 The next MOCA meeting will take place this Saturday, Feb 23rd. It's not too late to join the MOCA team competing in Robogames this summer! Refer to MOCA for more information
4 Feb 2008 ISURC Workshop!!! We will be learning how to program Basic STAMPs, a variety of microcontrollers. Please bring your laptop if you plan to participate.
22 Jan 2008 First meeting this Thursday, Jan 24th! We will be holding elections and discussing plans for the upcoming semester.
8 Nov 2007Augmented Reality Presentation -- Tanasha Taylor will be giving a presentation about Augmented Reality. She will explain what it is and how to try it on your own computer. Plus you'll get a sweet demonstration! Come check it out!
8 Oct 2007Upcoming workshop!!! We will be in the Toying with Technology Lab during our regular meeting time this week, Thursday 11 Oct from 7-9PM. The location of the lab is on the second floor of Howe, in the main hallway. The workshop will involved using the Lego Mindstorms kits to design a robot to complete a task which will be announced at the start of the workshop. Hope to see you there!
26 Sept 2007Movie night!!!! Thursday, Sept 27 at 7PM. We'll be showing I, Robot and be serving free pizza and pop to members.
21 Aug 2007The first club meeting of this year will be held Sept. 6th, 2007 in Hoover 2055. We will not hold a meeting on August 30th due to the football game (Go Cyclones!) but be sure to check us out at ClubFest on the 30th in Lied Recreation Center!

19 Jun 2006Adam has been working on the ARK quite a bit lately. He has made the mounts for the brakes and brake pads, and just needs to weld them in place. The only thing keeping us from having a very large RC vehicle is a little bit of gas and wiring.
12 Jun 2006Kevin has purchased many of the items from the ISURC budget, and we are just waiting on some specifications on the HERO MC servos to finish the buying process. We need people to come in and create cool things with our nice new toys...
23 May 2006Ryan was able to generate a 3D image of the hall outside the robotics lab office. Next he will be working on mounting the SICK laser range finder to the ARK.
17 May 2006Ryan Bruce got the SICK laser range finder up and running. A very nice tool. He should have laser-generated 3D models sometime soon. Nice work, Ryan.
08 Mar 2006Thanks to The Sharper Image's generosity and Jake D's fundraising efforts, we will be receiving a WowWee Alive robotic chimpanzee head to use for outreach activities. Robot monkey. Awesome.
21 Feb 2006New project: HERO MC. Renovating one of the club's two 1980s-era Hero I robots into a modern entertainment robot with a load tray for snacks, wireless internet "remote-control" operation, a video screen, snacks, a web camera, speakers, snacks, and possibly voice activation capabilities. 17 Feb 2006We made it! Adam Bogenrief's ATOM radio controlled vehicle will be representing the Robotics Club in the VEISHEA Parade on April 22!
17 Feb 2006ISURC Open House during VEISHEA! Any volunteers? Also looking for ideas for a "Robotics Club" medallion.. A mold for this item will be made and hundreds of plastic medallions will be handed out during the Open House!
